A Message from Founder/Director of SisTers PGH,

President of LGBTQIA Advisory Council Of Pittsburgh

& Pennsylvania Commissioner on LGBTQ Affairs

- Ciora Thomas

I would like to send light & love to our entire LGBTQIA community of Pittsburgh and OUR larger commonwealth of Pennsylvania. During the COVID - 19 epidemic, SisTers PGH leadership has been paying close attention to COVID-19 updates on a city and state level and because of the outbreak in Pennsylvania and Allegheny County, we have decided to postpone SisTers PGH GRAND Re-opening scheduled for March 31st, 2020 until further notice!

We realize the importance of having SisTers PGH Community Center open and accessible to our trans & nonbinary communities of Allegheny especially after losing our previous space due to a devastating fire but due to the High-Risk factors, we must choose the safety of our communities first & foremost.

Resources will still be available to our trans and nonbinary communities of Allegheny County including housing, emergency shelter, groceries, toiletries, hygiene products, rent support, utility Support which can all be accessed by visiting www.sisterspgh.org and clicking our Service Request Tab.

SisTers PGH Board members, Advisory Members & Volunteers have been instructed to work remotely on SisTers PGH's behalf in order to continue to provide these services. Services that are only available because of the generous support of our donors that help us provide essential and viable support to our trans & non-binary communities of Allegheny County.

We ask that you stay encouraged to DONATE to SisTers PGH so that we can continue to provide these resources while also considering donating toiletries & Hygiene products as they are being purchased in bulk by those who have the financial privilege to buy in bulk limiting access to those most marginalized within our trans & nonbinary communities. Toiletries & Hygiene products can be dropped off at SisTers PGH located at 2014 Monogahela Ave Pittsburgh Pa 15218 Saturday & Sundays. These donations are to be dropped off at our rear entrance inside the gate.

I will continue to work closely with our community partners as well as our LGBTQIA Advisory Council of Pittsburgh & Pennsylvania Commission of LGBTQ Affairs to help provide the most up to date information for our TLGBQIA communities of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania!
