Support Monica Roberts Place: How You Can Help

Monica Roberts Place is a groundbreaking housing program providing safe, stable, and affirming housing for Black and Brown transgender individuals. As an eight-unit apartment building dedicated to serving trans people in need of resources, we aim to offer more than just housing—we want to create a pathway to stability, independence, and homeownership.

Unlike many housing programs, Monica Roberts Place is not federally funded, meaning we rely on community support, financial contributions, and in-kind donations to sustain this vital resource. Below are ways you can help us continue providing a safe and affirming space for trans individuals in need.

Donate Financially

Financial contributions help sustain the daily operations of Monica Roberts Place, including rent assistance, program support, and tenant resources. You can donate directly through our website at:

SistersPGH.org/Monica-Roberts-Place

Your financial donations support:

• Tenant assistance and rent subsidies

• On-site community pantry (food, toiletries, and essentials)

• Home furnishings and apartment supplies

• Computers for tenants to access education, employment, and resources

• Financial literacy and homeownership programs

Donate Items: Food, Clothes, and Essential Supplies

We are accepting donations of food, clothes, toiletries, and household essentials to support our residents. Our goal is to fully furnish apartments over time, ensuring that every tenant has a comfortable and dignified living space.

Items we need include:

• Non-perishable food items for the on-site pantry

• Hygiene products and toiletries

• Cleaning supplies and household goods

• New or gently used furniture and home furnishings

• Laptops and computers for resident use

Partner with Monica Roberts Place

We are committed to building strong partnerships with organizations that provide referrals and resources to our residents. We are seeking partnerships with:

• Housing organizations and advocacy groups

• Healthcare providers and mental health services

• Employment training and job placement programs

• Financial literacy and homeownership support organizations
