The mission of The Home Equity Committee:
The Home Equity Committee is dedicated to transitioning our members who have graduated from our Project T program into a place of permanent independence through homeownership. Our committee will aid members of our community through the entire home-buying process, from credit building to covering closing costs. It is important to uplift our black and brown trans and nonbinary sibling community members. We deserve the freedom to own homes and have our own land. For years that opportunity was taken away from us and SisTers wants to put that liberation back into the hands of our community.
Values
Growth, creating sustainability, solidifying lifelong stability.
Vision
To create long-term independence for our trans and nonbinary siblings. Homeownership shouldn’t be a privilege. Black TGNC individuals deserve to own property and have a place to call home that is in their name.
Impact
The Home Equity Committee will not only be creating stable housing for our community members but putting that independence into their own hands. There is an innate value in owning your own things and having access to property under one's own name is powerful.
